The Supreme Court affirmed the court of appeals’ dismissal of Appellant’s petition for a writ of habeas corpus because his claims were not cognizable in habeas corpus.Appellant pleaded guilty to three counts of rape. The common pleas court sentenced Appellant to nine years’ imprisonment for each count and ordered two of the three sentences to run consecutively. Appellant filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus arguing that the trial court failed to make the requisite findings under Ohio Rev. Code 2929.14(C)(4) before imposing consecutive sentences. The court of appeals dismissed the petition. The Supreme Court affirmed the dismissal of the petition because Appellant’s claims were not cognizable in habeas corpus. View "State ex rel. Quillen v.
